Effectiveness of Community Participation Care for Non-communicable Diseases in the Elderly

This research was participatory action research to study the results of community-based participatory care for the elderly with chronic diseases. The sample selection was purposive, totaling 40 people, consisting of 25 elderly people with chronic diseases, 12 volunteer caregivers for elderly people with chronic diseases, and 6 people from community networks who lived in the Khao Phra Ngam Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lopburi Province. Achievement Evaluation Tools used to collect data self-care behavior measure for elderly people with chronic diseases and a measure of satisfaction with participation in caring for the elderly with chronic diseases. The data statistics analysis are descriptive statistics and statistics comparing differences in rank means by pair-t test.
The results of the research found that 1) Elderly people with chronic diseases had a statistically significant increase in self-care behavior in Week 12 after receiving the program, 2) Community networks have statistically significant increased satisfaction with participation in week 12 after receiving the program.
