Abstract

     This study was action research with the following objectives: 1. To develop guidelines for the management of clients found to have high blood pressure in the hospital. 2. To explore the implementation of draft guidelines in hospitals. 3. To evaluate the results of operations that increase the monitoring and diagnosis of service recipients with dangerously high blood pressure (SBP ≥ 180 mmHg and/or DBP ≥ 110 mmHg). Data were collected from 33 hospitals participating in the pilot study. The sites are divided into pilot hospitals that responded to the survey on the implementation of the draft guidelines for trial in July - September 2022 and those providing data on service recipients who came to the hospital with dangerously high blood pressure levels. The data were analyzed using percentage frequencies.
     The results of the study found that piloting the guidelines in 33 hospitals can increase diagnosis confirmation and follow-up in people with dangerously high blood pressure. Key findings include: 1. Increasing diagnosis confirmation. The percentage of patients registered for treatment of high blood pressure on the same day with a confirmed diagnosis of high blood pressure increased by 24.55 percent, which is 21.06 percent higher than before the project started. The rate of diagnosis confirmation for those registered to treat high blood pressure in the fiscal year rose to 52.92 percent after joining the project, which is 22.46 percent higher than before the project began. 2. Increasing monitoring and diagnosis confirmation. The performance of monitoring and confirming high blood pressure diagnoses within 1-7 days increased by 14.98 percent after joining the project, which is 14.35 percent higher than before the project began. Monitoring and confirmation of high blood pressure diagnoses in the fiscal year increased by 46.58 percent, which is 35.64 percent higher than before the project began. Additionally, the guidelines for managing clients with high blood pressure in the hospital passed the evaluation and certification of product standards for surveillance, prevention, and control of disease and health hazards by the Department of Disease Control, as of 31 August 2022.
