Model of care giver potential development of dependent elderly, Wang Taku Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province.

Abstract

     This study was quasi-experimental research. The objective is to study the potential of helpers taking care of dependent elderly people, Wang Taku Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province and the model for developing the potential of helpers taking care of dependent elderly people, Wang Taku Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The sample group consisted of 32 people helping to care for dependent elderly people in Wang Taku Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Pathom District. Data were collected from questionnaires. Data analyzed by Frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Dependent t – test.
     The results of the study found that the skills of assistants in taking care of the elderly according to their daily activities depend on their ability to carry out daily activities. Barthel ADL index and skills of assistants in caring for the elderly according to their main roles Overall and each item Before proceeding is at a moderate level After processing at the highest level. Before and after the operation There is a statistical significant difference at the .05 level. After the implementation of the skills of assistants in taking care of the elderly according to their daily activities according to their ability to carry out daily activities. Barthel ADL index and skills of assistants in caring for the elderly according to their main roles There are more than before the operation.
