Factors affecting self-efficacy among patients with type 2 diabetes a case study of Ban Na Bua Health Promoting Hospital.

Abstract

     This research was cross-sectional survey research. The objective was  to study factors affecting self-efficacy of patients with type 2 diabetes, a case study of Ban Na Bua Sub District Health Promoting Hospital. The sample group was  type 2 diabetic patients who had been living  in Ban Na Bua Subdistrict in the service areas of ​​Ban Na Bua Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, Renu District, Nakhon Phanom Province. The sample  aged 35 years and over of 128 people. Data were collected between 28 March 2024 and 28 May 2024, a total of 2 months. Data collection tools included  personal information questionnaires, Social support questionnaire, Stress questionnaire, Quality of life questionnaire, and  questionnaires on the perception of the elderly's ability to take care of themselves.
     The results of the study found that the majority were female 64.10% (number of 99 people) and aged 60 years and over 63.00% (number of 80 people). Marital status as a couple 77.30% (number of 99 people). Most education levels were primary school 92.20 percent (118 people) and the sample used were labor/farming/farming/gardening/for hire/general contractors 64.10 percent (82 people). To analysis of factors predicting the results of analysis of factors affecting self-efficacy of patients with type 2 diabetes using stepwise multiple regression analysis, It was found that there was a social support variable (B=. 379, p-value=.000) and quality of life variables (B=.470, p-value=.000) could  together predict 57.3% of the self-efficacy among patients with type 2 diabetes (R²= .573).
