Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the nursing care of two PLWH who were infected with monkeypox. Data from the patients' medical records were reviewed following Gordon's health patterns. The study was conducted from April 1 to April 15, 2024.
The study's findings revealed that case no. 1, a 29-year-old Thai male who had been diagnosed with HIV for 5 months, had presented to the hospital with a fever, multiple painful pustules, and swelling on his genitalia for 4 days. Case no. 2, a 27-year-old Thai male who had been diagnosed with HIV infection for 8 years and missing medication for 1 year, presented to the hospital with a fever and multiple papules on his arms and face for 11 days. Both patients experience significant issues, such as bacterial skin infections, painful skin lesions, and a lack of knowledge regarding self-care. The two subjects differed in terms of their risk of HIV drug resistance and their fear of losing their attractiveness. The hospital stays for cases no. 1 and no. 2 were 6 days and 15 days, respectively.
