Nursing care for patients with acute myocardial infarction with ST-elevation and heart failure.

Abstract

     This case study aimed to study and compare the disease progression, treatment and nursing care of 2 patients with acute ST-elevated myocardial infarction with heart failure. The study was conducted specifically in patients with acute ST-elevated myocardial infarction with heart failure. The study was conducted between April 2023 and October 2023.
     Results: Patient 1, a 66-year-old Thai male, farmer, no underlying disease, smoked 10-15 cigarettes per day, came to the hospital with left chest pain, radiating to the jaw, and pain penetrating the back. Pain score 10/10 points. The doctor diagnosed STEMI Anterior wall. Patient 2, a 48-year-old Thai male, fisherman, no underlying disease, chest pain, cold sweats, Pain score 10/10 points. The doctor diagnosed STEMI Inferior wall. Patient 1 received coronary angioplasty. Patient 2 received blood thinning medication and coronary angioplasty. The two patients were different in age and had the same risk factors: smoking. Patient 1 had cardiogenic shock and concomitant heart failure, so he received blood pressure stimulants, cardiac support devices, and intravenous diuretics. Patient 2 had cardiac arrest and required resuscitation and intubation. Assessment and close monitoring of the patient’s symptoms provided prompt and correct nursing care in life-threatening situations. Give patients a chance to survive, be safe and reduce complications.
