Development of a health promotion model for personnel at risk using nursing processes to prevent non-communicable chronic diseases: Yasothon Hospital.

Abstract

     The objective of this action research is to develop a health promotion model for hospital staff at risk of non-communicable diseases at Yasothon Hospital. This research employs a purposive sampling method, selecting 60 participants based on specific criteria: triglyceride levels > 150 mg/dL, cholesterol > 250 mg/dL, body mass index > 30 kg/m², waist circumference > 90 cm for males or > 80 cm for females, blood glucose levels > 110 mg/dL, and blood pressure > 140/90 mmHg. Data collection tools include focus group discussion records, health promotion behavior observation forms, and data collection forms for the experimental implementation of the health promotion model.
     The results of this research were expected to lead to the development of an effective health promotion model, focusing on modifying health behaviors of at-risk staff members. This model aims to reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases and promote overall well-being among the hospital personnel. Furthermore, it is anticipated that participants in the program will serve as positive role models for health care, ultimately contributing to an improvement in the overall quality of medical services provided by the hospital.
