Development a model of antibiotic promoting Reasonable use with with multidisciplinary team in Yangsisurat Hospital, Mahasarakham province.

Abstract

     This Action Research aims to development a model of Antibiotic Promoting Reasonable use and reduce the use of antibiotics with upper respiratory tract infection (URI), acute diarrhea (AD), fresh traumatic wound (FTW) in outpatients at Yangsisurat Hospital. The model analyzed the situation of antibiotic use problems in 3 groups of diseases by extracting data from patients drug use from the RDU 2016 program, interviewing the multidisciplinary team about the awareness of antibiotic prescribing using a questionnaire and collaborating with the PTC committee to analyze the situation to find problems and develop work. The development activities were designed according to the PLEASE principle. Data analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.
     The results showed that the effective model of Antibiotic Promoting Reasonable use can reduce the use of antibiotics in 3 groups of diseases 1. Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (PTC) Strengthening 2. Developing standard drug labels 3. Make CPG for the medical profession and population 4. Provide training on the rational use of medicines to medical personnel, set individual indicators for doctors and pop-up alerts in the HosXP program 5. Make CPG for special population 6. Announced as hospital policy. The comparative analysis of antibiotic prescription URI, AD and FTW the results before and after the research , the percentage of antibiotic prescription 3 disease groups to decrease: the percentage of antibiotic use in URI (criteria ≤ 20%) were 58.87% and 39.19% respectively , For AD (criteria ≤ 20%) the percentage were 21.82% and 14.02% respectively , In FTW (criteria ≤ 40%), the percentages were 58.87% and 39.19% respectively.
