Nursing Care in Patients with Gingival Cancer with Penetrating Wound Receiving Palliative Care: A Case Study Surin Maneechay.

A case study on nursing care for patients with gingival cancer presenting with penetrating wounds and receiving palliative care aimed to explore the pathology, disease progression, treatment approaches, nursing care methods, and health assessment based on Gordon's 11 functional health patterns. The study analyzed the data using content analysis and presented the illness condition through the five steps of the nursing process.
The findings revealed that patients faced health perception and management issues, nutrition and metabolism, daily activities and exercise, rest and sleep, self-concept, and coping with stress. Nurses developed a care plan involving continuous collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and related networks. This approach emphasized effective communication with healthcare service providers and the implementation of empowering activities for both patients and their families. These efforts were carried out in a structured and practical manner to enhance care outcomes.
