DEVELOPMENT OF A DRUG RECALL MANAGEMENT MODEL IN THE MUEANG KALASIN DISTRICT NETWORK KALASIN PROVINCE.

Abstract

     This action research aims to develop a drug recall management model for the public health service network in Muang Kalasin District. The study involved collaboration among the District Public Health Coordination Committee (DCC), healthcare personnel involved in drug recalls, public health volunteers, and patients. Data was collected between January and December 2024 through interviews and questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis.
     The findings revealed that, prior to the development of the drug recall management model, there was no clear process for drug recalls. The system lacked written procedures and a unified, up-to-date database across the healthcare network. Following the development phase, key improvements included the establishment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for drug recall management and the introduction of an information system consisting of a web application, Line communication system, and mobile application.

The study found that stakeholder participation in the planning and development of the drug recall model was rated as poor, with an average score of 1.63 (SD = 0.67). However, the efficiency of drug recall management among healthcare personnel was rated as good, with an average score of 4.25 (SD = 0.53). Patient awareness and confidence in the drug recall system were also rated as good, with 53.30% of patients reporting a positive perception.
