Plants Diversity and Local Wisdom in Si Thep Historical Park Si Thep District Petchabun Province.

Abstract

     This survey research aims to study plant diversity, local wisdom of utilizing plants, organizing of plant diversity database system, in Si Thep Historical Park, Si Thep District, Petchabun Province. Method of the research had four phases as follows: phase 1 was to study context of Si Thep Historical Park, phase 2 was to survey plant diversity and wisdom of utilizing plants in Si Thep Historical Park and enter plant diversity data into database, research results by training activities. The study results of plant diversity in Si Thep Historical Park indicate that there exist 129 species comprising 65 species of trees, 24 species of shrubs, 14 species of climbers, 14 species of herbaceous stems, 6 species of aquatic plants and 6 species of grass.

     The study on wisdom of utilizing of plants reveals that plants are used as food: Kaepa, Kheelek (Cassia Tree), Pakgood (Vegetable fern) and bamboos, as herbal plants: Fang (sappanwood), Rang Deang (Ventilago denticulata Willd) and Plao Yai (Croton oblongifolius Roxb), as general utilities: Preuk (Albizia lebbeck Benth), Padauk, Payom (Shorea) and Lakoocha. Those plants were organized as 129 species of plant diversity database system.
