Effects of labour social support program on fear of childbirth and satisfaction of the parturients at labour room, Phra Ajarn Mun Bhuridatto Hospital, SaKon Nakhon Province.

This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effects of labour social support program on fear of childbirth and satisfaction of the parturients at labour room, Phra Ajarn Mun Bhuridatto Hospital, SaKon Nakhon Province. The sample was the parturient, purposive sampling for 34 samples. Data collected from January to March 2025. The research instrument of data collection included questionnaires of general characteristics, fear of childbirth, and satisfaction of the program. The experimental instrument was the labour social support program. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The comparative parametric statistics used Repeated measure ANOVA.
The results showed; mean score of fear of childbirth at the first time before receiving the labour social support program was 72.65 (S.D.=20.93). The mean score after receiving the program on second, third, and fourth time were 40.00 (S.D.=17.75), 22.94 (S.D.=13.82), and 21.47 (S.D.=12.58), respectively. The statistic comparison found the mean scores of fears of childbirth after receiving the program lower than before (F=188.301, p<0.05), significantly. And mean different scores of fears of childbirth were differences significantly for 5 paired included first and second time (p<0.05), first and third time (p<0.05), first and fourth time (p<0.05), second and third time (p<0.05), second and fourth time (p<0.05). The satisfaction of the program was the level of high (=4.00, 0.38).
