Comparing Nurses’ Understanding and Correct Practices in Forensic Evidence across Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Healthcare Settings.

This study aimed to examine the roles and responsibilities of professional nurses in primary, secondary, and tertiary hospitals, as well as to assess their knowledge and understanding of forensic evidence. The study also explored existing challenges in evidence collection and management and proposed strategies to improve practice. The sample comprised 30 professional nurses in Chanthaburi Province. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics (percentage, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (t-test, ANOVA). The findings revealed that most respondents were female, aged 31–35 years, held a bachelor’s degree, had over ten years of work experience, and held the position of professional nurse practitioner. The majority had never received formal training in forensic science. The mean scores for knowledge and perceived roles were at a very high level (Mean = 4.83–4.92, SD = 0.33–0.36). No statistically significant differences were found across personal factors (p > 0.05).
