The Effectiveness of Coaching Skills for Healthcare Personnel at Napo Hospital

Abstract

     This quasi-experimental study aimed to examine changes in teamwork and organizational learning culture after implementing a coaching program based on the GROW Model in a community hospital. The participants were 30 healthcare and public health personnel working in a community hospital, selected through purposive sampling. A one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. Research instruments included a teamwork questionnaire, an organizational learning culture assessment form, and reflective questions. The GROW Model coaching program was implemented over an 8-week period. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-samples t-test.

     The results indicated that after the GROW Model coaching program, participants demonstrated significantly higher levels of teamwork and organizational learning culture, both overall and across dimensions, at the .05 level. These findings suggest that coaching enhances communication, collaboration, reflective practice, and experiential learning within the organization. Therefore, the GROW Model coaching program can be applied as an effective approach to improving teamwork and fostering a sustainable learning culture in community hospitals.
