Abstract

     The objective of this research was to investigate the expectations and perceived experiences of faculty members and students regarding the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process and to analyze the relationship between expectations and actual experiences. Utilizing a quantitative survey research design based on the Gap Model of Service Quality, the sample consisted of 12 faculty members and 293 students from the Faculty of Nursing, North Bangkok University. The research instrument was a questionnaire with high reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.

     The research findings were as follows:1) Faculty members’ expectations and experiences were at the highest level (M = 4.60 and 4.46, respectively), while students’ expectations and experiences ranged from high to the highest level (M = 4.30 and 4.35, respectively). The curriculum and instruction aspect yielded the highest mean scores for both groups; however, the overall mean of perceived experiences was slightly lower than expectations. 2) Hypothesis testing revealed no statistically significant difference in expectations between faculty and students (p = .077). However, their perceived experiences differed significantly at a statistical level (p = .050). 3) Expectations and perceived experiences showed a very high and statistically significant correlation (r = .92, p < .01). The aspects with the most prominent correlations were management (r = .91) and participation (r = .89).
