This study employed a cross-sectional survey research design to examine the level of work happiness and the factors affecting it among personnel in the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine. The sample consisted of 225 government officers and government employees working in the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine who had at least six months of work experience. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics, including Independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and Multiple Linear Regression.
The findings revealed that the overall level of work happiness among personnel was moderate (Mean = 3.53, S.D. = 0.34). Among personal factors, age was significantly associated with work happiness at the .05 level, reflecting differences in work happiness across different age groups. Correlation analysis showed that positive psychological capital, team cohesion, and perceived organizational support were positively associated with work happiness at a statistically significant level. Perceived organizational support demonstrated a moderate positive relationship with work happiness, whereas positive psychological capital and team cohesion showed low positive relationships. The results of multiple linear regression analysis indicated that perceived organizational support, positive psychological capital, team cohesion, and income level jointly predicted 43.9% of the variance in work happiness among personnel (Adjusted R² = .439, p < .001). Perceived organizational support was the strongest predictor of work happiness, followed by positive psychological capital and team cohesion, respectively. In addition, personnel with incomes lower than 40,000 baht reported significantly lower levels of work happiness compared with those earning more than 40,000 baht.
