A SURVEY OF AFLATOXINS IN PLANT-BASED PROTEIN POWDERS SOLD IN THAILAND

This study was survey research aimed to evaluate aflatoxin contamination in ten popular plant-based protein powder products available online in Thailand. Samples were analyzed for aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2, and total aflatoxins using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) combined with Immunoaffinity Column clean-up.
Results showed that eight samples had no detectable aflatoxins, while two samples contained aflatoxin B1 at levels below 0.70 µg/kg, well below the Thai food safety standard of 20 µg/kg.
