Abstract

This research was a cross-sectional study aimed at examining the factors associated with the working performance of village health volunteers in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in Banglen District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The sample consisted of 298 participants. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, minimum, maximum, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics, including the Chi-square test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient.

The results showed that the performance of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) was at a high level (61.41%), while 38.59% were at a moderate level. Monthly income was found to have a moderate positive correlation with the performance of VHVs in the prevention and control of NCDs (r = 0.462, p-value < 0.05). In addition, length of service and work motivation were found to have low positive correlations with the performance of VHVs in the prevention and control of NCDs in Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province (r = 0.271 and 0.311, respectively; p-value < 0.05).
