Enhancing Operating Room Nurses Competency in Kidney Transplantation Surgery at Saraburi Hospital.

This quasi experimental research aimed to enhance the competency of operating room nurses in providing perioperative nursing care for kidney transplantation patients at Saraburi Hospital, and to evaluate the outcomes of the competency development program. The study was conducted between December 2025 and March 2026. The sample comprised 38 operating room nurses, with pre- and post-intervention assessments. and 6 kidney transplantation patients.Data collection tools included: a knowledge questionnaire, a competency assessment form for kidney transplantation nursing care, a nurse satisfaction questionnaire, and a patient satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test.
The results showed that operating room nurses who participated in the competency development program had significantly higher knowledge and competency scores compared to pre-intervention (p < 0.001), with a high level of satisfaction (mean = 4.6, SD = 0.54) .Post-implementation, patients experienced fewer complications, such as surgical site infections and mortality, compared to the pre-implementation group. Patient satisfaction was also at a high level (mean = 4.37, SD = 0.64), and the average length of hospital stay was shorter.
