This research was a quasi-experimental research with a one-group pre- and post-test design. The objective was to compare the mean knowledge scores and self-care behaviors of diabetic patients in the experimental group before and after participating in the diabetic self-care program. The sample group consisted of 65 registered diabetic patients who received services at Ban Khok Sawang Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital. The research instruments consisted of Self-care program for diabetic patients consists of a self-care manual for diabetic patients, a diabetes education plan, and data collection tools. Including general information questionnaires, diabetes knowledge questionnaires for diabetic patients, and self-care behavior questionnaires for diabetic patients. Personal data of the sample group were analyzed by descriptive data analysis, including mean, standard deviation, and percentage, and comparative data analysis of the differences between the mean values of knowledge scores. and the self-care behavior of the experimental group before and after joining the program using statistics to test the change in knowledge scores and self-care behavior of the experimental group after the experiment using t-test statistics.
The results of the study found that 1. Knowledge about diabetes, before joining the program, the experimental group had a fair level of knowledge. After joining the self-care program, the experimental group had a mean score of The knowledge scores of diabetic patients were at a good level, which was higher than before joining the program. In terms of behavior, diabetic patients in the experimental group before joining the program found that before joining the program, the experimental group sometimes had self-care behavior. After joining the program, there was regular self-care behavior of diabetic patients according to the hypothesis that after joining the self-care program of diabetic patients in the experimental group Self-care behavior of diabetic patients was significantly higher than before joining the program at the statistical level of p<.05.
