Abstract

This study was survey research by cross-sectional study aimed to determine the incidence and associated factors of neutropenia in colorectal cancer patients receiving chemotherapy at a tertiary care hospital. Data on neutropenia were collected from the medical records of colorectal cancer patients receiving chemotherapy at a tertiary care hospital between August 1, 2022, and July 31, 2024, with follow-up for the occurrence of neutropenia until September 30, 2024. From a total of 662 prescription records, 118 patients met the inclusion criteria. Neutropenia was identified in 46 patients (38.98%), while 72 patients (61.02%) did not develop neutropenia. Among patients with neutropenia, 44 patients (95.65%) received granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), while 2 patients (4.35%) did not receive G-CSF. The majority of patients with neutropenia were male (51.69%). The most common tumor locations were rectum (35.60%) and sigmoid colon (27.97%). The most frequently used chemotherapy regimens were CapeOX (39.87%), FOLFOX4 (27.97%), and FOLFIRI (19.49%), respectively.
