This one-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental study aimed to compare pregnant women’s mean scores of knowledge and preventive behaviors regarding preterm labor before and after receiving a surveillance and monitoring model using the LINE application and to assess their satisfaction with the model. The participants were 22 pregnant women diagnosed with preterm labor and admitted to the labor room at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital. The research instruments included the surveillance and monitoring model using the LINE application, a preterm labor knowledge questionnaire, a preterm labor preventive behavior questionnaire, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired samples t-test.
The results showed that, after receiving the model, the participants had a significantly higher mean score for preterm labor preventive behaviors than before the intervention (t = 2.38, p = .014). However, there was no significant difference in the mean knowledge scores between pre- and post-intervention assessments (p = .500). Overall satisfaction with the model was at the highest level.
