Development of a digital media to provide knowledge and counsel to parents of children with pneumonia

The research on the development of digital media for providing knowledge and counseling to parents of children with pneumonia was quasi experimental research The purpose was to develop digital media to offer knowledge and counseling to these parents and to compare their levels of knowledge before and after using the digital media. The sample group consisted of parents of children diagnosed with pneumonia, aged 1 month to 5 years, who were treated in the pediatric ward of Nakhon Nayok Hospital, totaling 30 participants. The research tools included digital media that provides knowledge and counseling to parents of children with pneumonia, applied using Orem’s theoretical concepts, and a questionnaire to assess knowledge on caring for children with pneumonia. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, paired t-test, and content analysis.
The research found that after using digital media to provide knowledge and guidance to parents of children with pneumonia, the average knowledge level increased significantly compared to before using the digital media, with statistical significance at the .05 level (t29 = 2.94, p <.05). In addition, the participants were most satisfied with the media, especially in terms of it helping them feel more confident in taking care of their children.
