This survey research was systematic review aimed at studying and analyzing comparative data on the components, concepts according to Thai traditional medicine, and pharmacological evidence of Ya Hom Thep Chit and Ya Hom Navakoth herbal remedies. The research categorizes and analyzes these herbal formulas, comparing their primary tastes, main ingredients, medicinal properties, and the mechanisms of action according to Thai traditional medicine and the pharmacological mechanisms of Ya Hom Thep Chit and Ya Hom Navakoth.
The findings were then analyzed to identify possible relationships between traditional therapeutic uses and scientifically reported physiological and pharmacological mechanisms. The review found that Ya-Hom Theppachit mainly contains aromatic flowers and fragrant medicinal plants, whereas Ya-Hom Navakot mainly contains Kot, Thian, and pungent herbs. Both formulations may affect the autonomic nervous system, vascular tone, oxidative stress, and inflammation. Some clinical evidence also supports the potential effects of Ya-Hom Theppachit on blood pressure and sleep. These findings may help explain its traditional use for dizziness, light-headedness, and palpitations. However, most available evidence is based on individual herbs or preclinical studies rather than direct studies of the complete formulations. In conclusion, Ya-Hom Theppachit and Ya-Hom Navakot show some consistency between traditional Thai therapeutic concepts and modern pharmacological mechanisms, particularly in relation to the nervous and circulatory systems. Further clinical and experimental studies of the complete formulations are needed to confirm their effectiveness, mechanisms of action, and safety.
