Abstract

This survey research aimed to 1) examine the quality of work life, 2) examine occupational safety, 3) examine the relationship between quality of work life and personal factors, and 4) examine the relationship between quality of work life and occupational safety among personnel of Somdejprasangkharach XVII Hospital. The sample consisted of 259 hospital personnel. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan formula, and stratified random sampling was employed. The research instrument was a questionnaire developed by the researcher, consisting of three parts: personal information, quality of work life, and occupational safety. The instrument was examined for content validity by a panel of experts and demonstrated reliability above the established criterion. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, and Fisher's exact test.

The results showed that most of the sample were female (73.3%), aged 30-39 years (31.8%), and held a bachelor's degree (56.9%). The overall quality of work life was rated at a high level (M = 3.68, SD = 0.644). The interpersonal relations domain received the highest mean score (M = 3.99), while the fair and adequate compensation domain received the lowest (M = 3.25). Overall occupational safety was also rated at a high level (M = 3.96, SD = 0.674), with the protection domain scoring highest (M = 4.00) and the prevention domain scoring lowest (M = 3.90). Hypothesis testing revealed that sex was significantly associated with quality of work life (p = 0.016), whereas age, length of service, salary, and job characteristics showed no statistically significant association with quality of work life. Quality of work life was found to be positively and significantly correlated with occupational safety (r = 0.824, p < 0.001).
