          This research article aims to 1) study the history and development of Sukhavativayuha Sutra and 2) interpret the concept of liberation through Bhakti in Sukhavativayuha Sutra. This research is a biblical research study. It studies and researches based on the important information of source, namely the Sukhavativayuha Sutra. It includes Buddhist scriptures of various sects recorded in Sanskrit, ancient Chinese and Thai. The research found that the Sukhavativayuha Sutra has been widely criticized for its views that both agree and oppose the concept of faith-led and external power. Benefits from this research make known the history. Scope of content and important concepts in Sukhavativayuha Sutra are useful in academics. It can be used as a reference in research studies to expand the body of knowledge as well as applying the knowledge for the benefit of human and social development. This is because it is a concept that understands the nature and limitations of real human beings, not only by using one’s own wisdom that one can escape suffering.
