Wat Suan Dok, according to historical evidence, there is a history of building recorded in the stone inscription of Wat Phra Yuen. When King Kue Na invited Phra Sumon Thera from Sukhothai in 1914, the main stupa in Wat Suan Dok has a bell-shaped form of a large Lanna native. The tiered adorns the Buddha image in the blessing posture, standing around the tiered which usually in Lanna. There is no decorative pattern on the tiered adorns. The decoration of the Buddha image on the tiered adorns is inspired by the Sukhothai arts. Within the temple area, there are many places of worship, including (1) the grand sanctuary; Viharn Luang, built in 1931 by Chao Kaew Nawarat, governor of Chiang Mai. And people have invited Kruba Srivijaya Saint of Lanna Thai was the president, registered as a national historic site in 1935 (2) the pagoda or Phrathat Chedi is an architecture according to the Buddhist motto of Lanka's first Lanna family. (3) the monument (Ku) containing the ashes of Kru Ba Sriwichai (4) the big Buddha King Kao Tue in the chapel, big Buddha image in the chapel that’s a heavy bronze statue. It has Lanna style and Sukhothai art which is very beautiful of Chiang Mai. (5) the monument (Ku) of the Northern Master (6) the standing Buddha; Phra Yuen in the grand sanctuary (7) Phra Ubosot or the chapel of Suan Dok Temple (8) the monument (Ku) contains the ashes, Prince of Chao Dara Rasmee and (9) the old entrance arch. Wat Suan Dok in addition to having an ancient site and an important temple in Chiang Mai. It is also a place to contain the ashes of the Northern family's boss in Chiang Mai.  And is a place for propagating Buddhism in the Mekong region.
