The Leadership Styles of School Administrators in Relation to the Effectiveness of Academic Administration in Private Schools in Mueang Chonburi District under The Chonburi Education Office.

Abstract

The objectives of this independent study were 1) to investigate leadership styles of school administrators in private schools in Mueang Chonburi District under The Chonburi Education Office, 2) to study the effectiveness of school administration in private schools in Mueang Chonburi District under The Chonburi Education Office, and 3) to study the relationship between leadership styles of school administrators and effectiveness of school administration in private schools in Mueang Chonburi District under The Chonburi Education Office.

The results of this study indicated that the overall leadership of school administrators in private schools in Mueang Chonburi District under The Chonburi Education Office was at a high level. When individual aspects were considered, an aspect with the highest mean was Achievement-Oriented Leadership, followed by Supportive Leadership, and Directive Leadership, respectively. In addition, the overall effectiveness of school administration in private schools in Mueang Chonburi District under The Chonburi Education Office was at a high level. When individual aspects were considered, an aspect with the highest mean was the development of the learning management process, while an aspect with the lowest mean was research for educational quality development. When correlation coefficients between leadership styles and effectiveness of school administration were determined, it was found that leadership styles were highly positively related with the effectiveness of school administration in private schools in Mueang Chonburi District under The Chonburi Education Office, indicating that the implementation of achievement-oriented leadership among school administrators could enhance the effectiveness of the academic work in developing the learning management process.
