Academic Leadership Of School Administrators Affecting Internal Quality Assurance In Educational Institution Under The Office Of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) investigate levels of academic leadership of school administrators under the Office of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; 2) evaluate levels of internal quality assurance in educational institution; 3) explore the relationship between academic leadership of school administrators and internal quality assurance in educational institution; and 4) study academic leadership of school administrators affecting the operation of internal quality assurance in educational institution. The research was quantitative. The sample was 335 administrators and teachers from the schools under the Office of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. Krajsey and Morgan's formula and a multistage random sampling approach were used to get the sample size. The research instrument for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis.           

The results showed that:

             1) The overall characteristic level of academic leadership of school administrators under the Office of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was high, ranking by mean scores from high to low: planning for professional development in teaching, followed by evaluating teaching performance of teachers, organizing projects for children with special needs, assessing student learning, and trends of curriculum change.

The overall internal quality assurance in educational institution under the Office of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was high, ranking by mean scores from high to low: monitoring the results of actions for school development, followed by development of schools to ensure quality, preparation of self-assessment reports, evaluation of results and inspection of educational management, educational standards, development of educational, and implementation of educational.
2. There was a high positive correlation (r_xy = .904) between academic leadership of school administrators and internal quality assurance in educational institution under the Office of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, with a statistical significance of .01,
3. academic leadership of school administrators affected internal quality assurance in educational institution under the Office of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 in five areas: trends of curriculum change, assessing student learning, organizing projects for children with special needs, evaluating teaching performance of teachers, and planning for professional development in teaching, with a 82.70% prediction. The forecasting equation in raw score form was Y´ = .909 + .176X₁ + .114X₂ + .111X₃ + .177X₄ + .322X₅, whereas in standard score form it was Z´ Y´ = .195X₁ + .134 X₂ + .140 X₃ + .202 X₄ + .345 X₅
