Guidelines for managing quality schools in the subdistrict Under the jurisdiction of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office, Area 1

Abstract

The purposes of this research are 1) to study opinions on the administration of quality schools in the sub-district under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area Office, Area 1, and 2) to propose guidelines for managing quality schools in the sub-district under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area Office, Area 1. The research method has two steps: Step 1: Study opinions on the administration of quality schools in the sub-district. The sample group was 78 schools under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area Office, Area 1, divided into 78 administrators and 78 teachers responsible for the planning and policy department under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area Office, Area 1. The researcher determined the sample size of administrators and teachers using the Taro Yamane formula with a small population with a confidence level of 95% (.95) or an error of 5% (.05) (Taro Yamane, 1973), a total of 156 people. The research tool was a questionnaire which was found that there is a confidence value for the school's educational quality of 0.91. Statistics used in data analysis were mean and standard deviation. Step 2: Propose guidelines for managing quality schools in the sub-district. The main informants include experts, consisting of administrators of quality schools in the sub-district at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, totaling five people. The schools were selected as quality schools in the sub-district under the Education Service Area Office to answer the interview questionnaire using purposive sampling. The research tool was a semi-structured interview form, and the data was analyzed using content analysis.

            The results of the research were as follows: 1) the level of opinion on the management of quality schools in the sub-district under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area Office, Area 1, found that the overall level of opinion towards the administration of quality schools in the sub-district was highest in the area of strategy. And the lowest in the area of achievement. 2) Guidelines for managing quality schools in the sub-district under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area Office, Area 1, consisted of 24 action items and were divided into four aspects. The first aspect is the essential organizational aspect of the educational institution. There are seven action items, such as the school working with the community, the Basic Education Commission holding the meeting on promoting vocational skills training for students, creating understanding, and preparing under the concept framework. The second aspect is the strategic aspect of the educational institution. There are six action items, such as the school creating an integrated curriculum between grade levels and the content of each subject group. The third aspect is the quality of the educational institution's learners. There are five action items, such as encouraging teachers to organize learning that focuses on allowing students to learn by using more technology, teachers are encouraged to organize teaching and learning activities that are student-centered so that allowing students to gain knowledge through thinking, analyzing, and criticizing with reason. The last aspect, regarding the achievement of the educational institution. There are six action items, such as supervising the management of teaching and learning in a friendly manner, continuously monitoring, analyzing, and collecting data on student academic achievement, and using results from monitoring and evaluation to plan as a guideline for improving academic achievement.
