Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop an information system for Student Affairs Administration at Wat Thammajariyapirom School in Samut Sakhon Province. This platform was developed for a number of purposes, including: to manage students’ general information; to maintain scores regarding students’ behaviors in terms of appropriate or inappropriate conducts; and to record relevant information pertaining to ‘homerooms’ and ‘home-visits’. Furthermore, this system was also used to monitor students’ attendance and information relating to professional development and continuing education of the schools’ alumni. This was a ‘developmental’ type research. The research population consisted of 36 participants, including 2 directors/deputy directors, 6 head teachers or deputy heads, 26 advisors, 1 students’ affairs teacher, and 1 system administrator. In the process, a system development lifecycle methodology was used. The feasibility study of the system was initiated by interviewing the participants. The analysis, design, and development of the new system were then carried out accordingly. Moreover, the ‘Google Apps Script’ program, ‘Google Sheets’ - as an online database, and ‘Google Sites’ - to design the login page - were also utilized in the process. After testing, the system was installed and evaluated. The results of the research showed that the information system was able to enhance the overall efficiency, and proved to be an effective tool to support both the Student affairs and Academic Administration offices. The evaluation by the users of all groups revealed this added efficiency in the system using 3 aspects: inputting at the highest level ( gif.latex?x\overline{}= 4.83), reporting at a high level ( gif.latex?x\overline{}= 4.49), and processing at a high level ( gif.latex?x\overline{}= 4.48), respectively.
