Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the level of stakeholders’ driving force; and green supply chain management; and 2) the influence of stakeholders’ driving force and green supply chain management on the competitiveness and business performance of the manufacturing industry in Thailand. 421 manufacturers were selected through a stratified random sampling to participate in this study. A questionnaire was employed for data collection. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with the application of structural equation model analysis.

The study found that the overall level of stakeholders’ driving force, green supply chain management, competitiveness, and business performance of the manufacturing industry in Thailand was at a high level. The stakeholders’ driving force has significant direct and indirect influences on the competitiveness and the business performance through green supply chain management at .01 of statistically level. According to the structural equation model analysis, the study showed that the casual factors (stakeholders’ driving force and green supply chain management) have influenced the competitiveness and business performance of the manufacturing industry in Thailand and the finding is consistent with empirical data ( = 31.61, df = 35, CMIN/df = 0.903, CFI = 1.00, GFI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.000).
