Abstract

Repair, linguistic mechanisms that occur in every language, is one of the fundamental issues of Conversation Analysis (CA). This research article aimed to examine types of repair and strategies of other-initiated repair in GMMTV Co., Ltd.’s series of shootings. The data are derived from 167 GMMTV Co., Ltd.’s behind-the-scenes videos. There are fifty-six repairs in total. It was found that there are three types of repairs namely, other-initiated self-repair, self-initiated self-repair, and self-initiated other-repair. For strategies of other-initiated repair, the results demonstrated four strategies. The most preferred strategy was advising. The findings indicated that the characteristics of the data might affect types and strategies of repair.
