ตัวคูณทวีการท่องเที่ยวและผลกระทบต่อการกระจายรายได้: หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์จากข้อมูลโรงแรมของประเทศไทย

เนื่องจากอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาประเทศงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออธิบายถึง บทบาทการท่องเที่ยวต่อการกระจายรายได้ผ่านรูปแบบตัวคูณทวีการท่องเที่ยว (Tourism Multiplier) ของประเทศไทยโดยวิเคราะห์ผ่านกลไกในการจ้างงานผ่านข้อมูลการสำรวจโรงแรมและที่พัก ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ตัวคูณทวีการท่องเที่ยวแปรผกผันกับผลประกอบการของโรงแรม ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นว่าโรงแรมมีกำไรสูงมีแนวโน้มที่จะส่งผลต่อการกระจายรายได้ที่ต่ำ นอกจากนี้ปัจจัยอื่นๆของโรงแรม เช่น โรงแรมขนาดใหญ่ การมีต่างประเทศร่วมลงทุน รูปแบบการจัดตั้งที่เป็นมหาชนจะส่งผลเชิงลบต่อการกระจายรายได้ที่ดี ดังนั้น ในการส่งเสริมให้เกิดการกระจายรายได้ที่ดีผ่านอุตสาหกรรมโรงแรมและที่พัก ภาครัฐควรส่งเสริมและเพิ่มศักยภาพของโรงแรมขนาดเล็กและส่งเสริมการเชื่อมโยงไปสู่การเป็นวิสาหกิจชุมชนให้มากขึ้นเพื่อสนับสนุนให้แรงงานในภาคอุตสาหกรรมโรงแรมและที่พักได้รับประโยชน์จากการท่องเที่ยวอย่างแท้จริง
