Abstract

The aims of this research were: 1) to study the service mind of the personnel in higher education institutions; 2) to study the dhamma principles to promote the service mind in the case study of Sangha College; 3) to integrate the service mind of such personnel with the dhamma principles. The qualitative research methodology and fieldwork were used to conduct this study. The data were interpreted by using the descriptive statistics, content analysis, document analysis, interview and content summary. The research results were as follows: The dhamma principles supporting the service mind were all elements of the IV Sangahavatthu principle (saṅgahavatthu, bases of social solidarity) composed of 1) generosity, 2) kindly speech, 3) rendering services and 4) equal treatment; the Brahmavihara-Dharma (Pāli: brahmavihāra, the sublime states of the mind) composed of 1) mettā (loving kindness), 2) karuṇā (compassion), 3) muditā (sympathetic joy) and 4) upekkhā (equanimity).
