Food sanitation conditions of street food vendors in Nongbua Health Promoting Hospital,Udonthani Municipality

Abstract

     The aims of this research were to investigate food sanitation conditions of street food vendors in Nongbua Health Promoting Hospital,Udonthani Municipality.The results are shown as follows:

     The hygienic circumstance study by evaluating physical characteristic of 50 street food vendors following the 12 regulations of Food Hygiene of Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health showed that 19 out of 50 street food vendors (38 percent) passed the Department of Health’s rules of food sanitation and street food. The results of bacterial contamination using coliform bacteria test kits (SI-2) in 100 samples of food handles, 250 samples of food containers, and 150 samples of food have positive results at 15 samples (15 percent), 48 samples (14.4 percent), and 22 samples (14.7 percent) respectively.
