Abstract

Over the last few decades, posthuman anthropology has grown in importance as a field of study in anthropology. In this article, I discuss science and climate fiction as one of the key approaches to comprehending the construction and portrayal of the posthumanist worlds and connecting the various posthumanist worldings to anthropological research and writing through the lens of speculative anthropology. I use Ursula K. Le Guin, Kurt Vonnegut, and Jeff VanderMeer's works to show how the absurdity and challenges of Anthropocenic conditions are worlded, depicted, experimented with, and enacted in posthumanist science fiction.
