WORKING MOTIVATION OF THE POLICE OFFICERS UNDER THE BORDER PATROL POLICE DIVISION 2

The purpose of this descriptive study aimed to investigate the working motivation of the police officers under the border patrol police division 2. The sample used consisted of 171 of the police officers under the border patrol police division 2 using a random sampling technique. Research instruments included a demographic questionnaire and working motivation questionnaires. A panel of 5 experts considered the questionnaires’ content validity. Item Objective Congruence Index (IOC) of 0.90 were reported for working motivation questionnaires. The questionnaires’ internal consistencies were supported by Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of 0.87 for working motivation questionnaires. The descriptive statistics included frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation were used for data analysis. Research findings:
1. The majority of the respondents were male, aged 51 - 60, education High School/Vocational Certificate, holding a rank position of noncommissioned officers and earning 20,001 - 30,000 baht a month.
2. Results indicated that the total level of the working motivation of the police officers under the border patrol police division 2 was high. The motivation identified in order of importance were achievement, relations, responsibility, job description, administrative supervisor, respect, policy and Salary.
