Abstract

        The aims of this research were: 1) to study the model for cultivating faithfulness (sacca) according to the Buddhist principles; 2) to study the problems of people who want to stop drinking in the welfare center for people who want to quit alcohol of Ku Kaew Rattanaram temple, Ban Chit Sub-district, Ku Kaew district, Udonthani province; 3) to propose a model for cultivating faithfulness according to Buddhist principles for the welfare center for people who want to quit alcohol of Ku Kaew Rattanaram temple, Ban Chit Sub-district, Ku Kaew district, Udonthani province. This study was carried out by means of the documentary research through studying of primary and secondary sources related to the Tipiṭaka, books, research papers, thesis, research reports, documents and fieldwork to interview the target group including 25 informants selected by purposive sampling. The obtained data are presented by the descriptive analysis. The research results are as follows:
        The model for cultivating faithfulness following Buddhist principles is the truthful speech or being honest with the words and following the given faithfulness. This gives value to those who practice in many ways such as improving the quality of life. The methods that allow patients to solve their alcohol addiction is to make them to follow their words in order to create a framework and encourage oneself.
        The model for cultivating faithfulness according to Buddhist principles for the welfare center for people who want to quit alcohol of Ku Kaew Rattanaram temple, Ban Chit Sub-district, Ku Kaew district, Udonthani province is that the center has a process for systematic treatment by cultivating behavior with activities such as chanting, meditation, walking meditation along with making a vow, drinking herbal water to neutralize alcohol, intervening in the treatment of alcoholics in order to make the mind to focus on alcoholic treatment and bringing the faithfulness which is the Buddhist principle as the activity of the therapist to train the mind to be strong in order to see the danger of alcohol consumption.
