The Potentiality and Readyness on Development of Local Administrative Organizations in Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

          This research aims to study the Potentiality and Readyness on Development of Local Administrative Organizations in Khon Kaen Province. The instruments of this research included the interview. The samples were 5 persons from Local Administrative Organizations. The data analyzing was on contents analysis.
          The analysis of data indicated that the studied local administration organizations had a low potential and were unprepared to take on a responsibility for implementing locally led economic development policy. Their capacity in local economic development of the local administration organizations was hampered by the following 5 limitations: 1) Unable to plan and develop necessary infrastructure for local economic development.  2) Unable to attract business investors from outside the community to invest in the areas. 3) Lack of an ability to create new jobs, utilizing the local resources. 4) Lack of an initiative in marketing products and distribution. And 5) Lack of knowledge in digital technology, more specifically for production. The economic activities that the local administration organizations carried out, at best, are simply income generation for the people in the villages. With this backdrop, the subdistrict municipalities and sub-district administration organizations under studied were unprepared to formulate and implement any locally led local economic development policy
