Leadership and Performance of Buddhist abbots : a case Study Buddhist Temples in Pakthongchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province

Abstract

         The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of leadership and performance of the abbots in Pak Thong Chai District.  Nakhon Ratchasima Province 2) to study the relationship between the characteristics of the abbot and the leadership and performance of the abbot.  in Pak Thong Chai District  Nakhon Ratchasima Province 3) to study the guidelines for building leadership of the abbots in Pak Thong Chai District  Nakhon Ratchasima Province  This research is a quantitative research.  The research sample consisted of 220 people, including 44 monks, 44 Vaiyavakorns, 44 temple committees, and 88 laymen-upasikas by using specific random sampling.  using a specific randomization method.  The tools of this research were questionnaires and statistics used for data analysis, including frequency values.  and average percentage
          The results showed that
          1. The performance of the abbot's leadership mission in 7 aspects of the abbot, namely: (1) opinion, (2) respect, persuasion, (3) improvement, (4) giving, (5) assistance (  6) co-ordination and (7) socialization at a high level.  There was a statistically significant positive correlation at the .05 level with a high correlation.  have the ability to provide services  Continuous facilitation, morality and personnel management skills.  strictly follow the rules  be honest  Be a leader of change, self-improvement and always seek knowledge.  And there is a relationship between the leadership and the performance of the abbot is related to the building of the leadership of the abbot in Pak Thong Chai District.  Nakhon Ratchasima Province
         2. The respondents made suggestions about problems and solutions. Leadership and the performance of the abbot  :only study in the case of Pak Thong Chai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, which is to help the abbot to facilitate the mission of propagating Buddhism in order to build more faith in the people and the government  Subdistrict Administrative Organizations should have to stimulate the budget to assist in the propagation of Buddhism.
