The Factors Influencing towards Disciplinary Actions of Inmates at Khon Kaen Central Prison

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were 1) to study the components affecting disciplinary offense of Inmates at Khon Kaen Central Prison, 2) to study situation of disciplinary offense of Inmates at Khon Kaen Central Prison and 3) to propose guidelines for disciplinary offense of Inmates at Khon Kaen Central Prison. This research was a mixed research between quantitative research and qualitative research. The instruments used in this research consisted of a questionnaire, in-depth interview and group discussion.
          The research results were found that: 1) The components affecting disciplinary offense of prisoners in Khon Kaen Central Prison consisted of 10 important components, the first three components were family relation (23.929), environment and facilities (12.450), society within prison (7.731). 2) The situation of disciplinary offense of the prisoners was found that, in overall, it was rated at a moderate level, when classified by aspects, it was found at a moderate level consisting of 4 aspects including the aspect of prison officials, the environment, recognition of laws, rules, regulations, family relation and 1 aspect was rated at the lowest level, namely society of prisoners. 3) The guidelines for disciplinary offense of prisoners in Khon Kaen Central Prison were found that they consisted of 6 important guidelines as follows: 1) guidelines for developing communication patterns within family, 2) guidelines for improving the environment and facilities for prison, 3) guidelines for developing social situation within prison, 4) guidelines for rules, regulations, regulations within prison, 5) guidelines for developing knowledge and skills of prison officials and 6) guidelines for disciplinary offense of prisoners.
