Constructing the Guidebook of Huagudeng Folk Music for Teaching Folk Music Major Student at Fuyang Normal University, Anhui Province, China

Abstract

           Originating and popular in the middle reaches of the Huaihe River, the Huagudeng is an ancient local song and dance art in China. It is the most representative and typical folk song and dance of the Han nationality. The research purposes were 1) To study the Huagudeng folk Music from the experts. 2) To construct the guidebook of Huagudeng folk music for teaching folk music major student at Fuyang Normal University, Anhui Province, the People’s Republic of China. 3) To experiment the guidebook of Huagudeng folk music for teaching folk music major student at Fuyang Normal University. 4) To evaluate the guidebook of Huagudeng folk music for teaching folk music major student at Fuyang Normal University. The methodology was mixed method research which combining of qualitative and experimental research methods. The population for experimental research was are 80 sophomore students majoring in national vocal music in the College of Music and Dance of Fuyang Normal University. The sample was 20 sophomores majoring in music education in Music and Dance College of Fuyang Normal University were randomly selected.
           The research result was 1) students should learn the basic knowledge of Anhui Huagudeng folk music, genre knowledge and Anhui Huagudeng famous repertoire. 2) . The first part is to learn the basic theoretical knowledge of Anhui Huagudeng music, including the origin of Huagudeng music, the development history of Huagudeng music, the performance forms of Huagudeng music, the singing methods of Huagudeng folk songs and singing 10 famous Anhui folk songs. The second part is the practical training of Anhui Huagudeng folk song singing, including singing the lyrics, pitch rhythm, singing skills and local language pronunciation of each song. 3) There are 16 courses in the course plan 4) the teaching effect of teachers after the implementation of Anhui Huagudeng folk song teaching guide has been significantly improved.
