Guidelines for Collaborative Network Management for Road Safety Management: Bueng Yitho Subdistrict Area, Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

          Road safety which was an important problem in many countries was the challenging situation for enormous economic and social. This was due to the loss of human resources and a variety of societal inequities.  However, it was essential to support collaboration from departments in order to reduce the problems.  This research aimed to study the condition and problems of road safety management and presented the guidelines for collaborative network management for road safety management: Bueng Yitho subdistrict Area, Thanyaburi district, Pathum Thani province.  Data was collected from the key informants who had the crucial role to play in terms of policy formulation and policy implementation. The expert and academic person were in total of 19 people by using in-depth interviews and analytic induction.
          Physical properties of some incomplete roads had road construction in a variety of places, it may be a part of road insecurity. And the main problem found is the issue people not following traffic rules violating a signal or prohibition sign. These behaviors are the main cause of road safety management problems. Guidelines of the managing collaborative networks for road safety management were as the following.
          1) Initiating cooperation aspect raising awareness among local communities is an important determinant of success in road safety management.
          2) Actor aspect that informal mobilization together leads to a relationship that does not require orders from network partners.
           3) Playing roles would use the performance is having a working group created from team building according to provincial orders and bringing them into systematic meetings.
          4) Work construction should have the provincial governor is chairman of the provincial road safety administration center and has established a sub-committee of network partners to work.

5) Decision making would use a raising community awareness to lead to consensus on a safety culture.
          6) The goal of collaborative work must be together is increasing the number of network partners to drive multilateral work.
