The Wuhan Beilin Dahe Natural History Museum boasts a rich collection of resources, but as the museum only officially opened to the public in 2018, it is still in the early stages of visual identity design and cultural promotion. This study aims to analyze and summarize thecultural characteristics of the museum by collecting visitor feedback through surveys. The goal is to design a visual identity that is both culturally rich and practical, thereby increasing themuseum's influence and visibility.
This research closely integrates theoretical analysis with design practice, utilizing a combination of literature review and field research to explore the exhibition themes, collection features, display methods, service facilities, and exhibition layout of the Wuhan Beilin Dahe Natural History Museum. The study analyzes the issues in the museum’s visual identity design and examines user needs. Through related research, a complete visual design solution was developed, providing new insights for the museum’s cultural promotion. To further enhance the scientific rigor and reliability of the research, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to systematically organize the survey results. Specifically, feedback on the museum’s visual identity was collected from visitors through questionnaires, and the data was statistically processed using quantitative analysis tools to identify visitor preferences and needs. Based on this analysis, a feasible design concept and plan were proposed to ensure that the design meets user needs and enhances the museum’s overall image.
