Abstract

With Peking Opera on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010, Peking Opera in the classroom has become a breakthrough point for students to get to know traditional culture. Peking Opera, with its wealth of knowledge and superb performances, has made it possible for students to improve their performance in all aspects, and it is a vivid example of integrating disciplinary synthesis in the field of music once again. By integrating humanities, history, literature, music, art and even sociology into the repertoire of Peking Opera, students are able to experience the philosophy of life and aesthetics embedded in the theatre through the repertoire, which in turn leads to a "cultural self-consciousness", and the formation of emotional attitudes and values that are proud of traditional Chinese culture.
