GUIDELINES FOR FOOTBALL SKILLS PROMOTING ACCORDING TO THE FOUR PRINCIPLES OF IDDHIPADA FOR FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN NONTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

            The objectives of this research are: 1) to study the current state and problem of football learning and football skills training of football players of secondary schools in Nonthaburi province, 2) to study the development of football learning and football skills according to the Four Principles of Iddhipada of football players of secondary schools in Nonthaburi province, and 3) to propose guidelines for the development of football learning and football skills training according to the Four Principles of Iddhipada of football players of secondary schools in Nonthaburi province. The mixed research methodology was used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaires from 320 samples and analyzed by percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were collected by interviews with 5 key-informants and then analyzed by content analysis.

            The research results were found that:

            1. The current state and problem of football learning and football skills training of football players of secondary schools in Nonthaburi province was at a high level overall. In descending order, the highest level was on kicking the ball with outside foot, followed by dribbling the ball with outside foot, and stopping the ball with the sole of the foot.
           2. The development of football learning and football skills training according to the Four Principles of Iddhipada of football players of secondary schools in Nonthaburi province consists of 1) Chanda, to inspire the football players with media and information, 2) Viriya, to encourage the football players to practice and train regularly, 3) Citta, the trainers should behave themselves as a good model for the football players, and 4) Vimamsa, to review the trainings for playing skills and experiences.
           3. The guidelines for the development of football learning and football skills training according to the Four Principles of Iddhipada of football players of secondary schools in Nonthaburi province are that; 1) Chanda, the teachers or the trainers have to find new techniques and training methods to interest the trainees, 2) Viriya, the teachers or the trainers have to implant the ideal and target of football playing to the trainees, 3) Citta, the teachers or the trainers have to set themselves as a good model to the trainees in hard working, exercising, and punctuality, and 4) Vimamsa, the teachers or the trainers have to set up the target and create testing models in practice and trials.
