Guidelines for the management of the participatory school lunch program of schools under the Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the state and the problems of the participatory school lunch program management under Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office and to propose guidelines for the participatory school lunch program management under Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office. Research methods had two steps: First step, to study the state and the problems of the participatory school lunch program management under Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office by collecting quantitative data from samples as the responsible teachers on school lunch programs and the school administrators from 80 schools. The statistics used for the analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Second step, to study the guidelines for the management of the participatory school lunch program od schools under Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office by collecting qualitative data from 5 experts and the data were analyzed by content analysis.

          The research results were found as follows: The administrators and the responsible teachers on school lunch programs reflected the state of the participatory school lunch program management under Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office were at the high level on the whole, and the problems of performance were at the lowest level. The guidelines for the participatory school lunch program management under Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office consisted of 5 steps: 26 guidelines consisting of project initiation step: 5 guidelines, such as local experts, local wisdom, guest speakers, stakeholders, analyses of legal regulations and clearly defining roles and responsibilities. Steps of planning consisted of 5 guidelines, such as teachers in school, students, and community. All of them set the format of school lunch program management and made the project draft. The five steps in the procedure, such as community representatives, local wisdom, alumni participating in setting a framework and co-operating in support of more quality school lunch program. There were 5 steps of Inspection and control procedures, such as a parent representative, a student representative, and a community representative participating in supervision, table of contents for supervision and a variety of ways. Steps of project closing 6 guidelines, such as bring the overall results to organize the Best Practice activity to praise and commend the Best Practice school that had excellent school lunch program performance. Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office selected pilot schools to meet each other for knowledge sharing and creating good innovation in school lunch program management under Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office.
