Abstract

The research aims to investigate the collection management system of cremation volumes on music at the Faculty of Humanities Library, Kasetsart University. Additionally, it analyzes the specific characteristics of these volumes, including biographies, obituaries, illustrations, and temporal aspects of printed materials. The findings are intended to provide guidelines for managing cremation volumes on music. The Faculty of Humanities Library categorizes cremation volumes as part of the general books section, using the Library of Congress Classification system (LCC). These volumes are openly accessible on shelves. Most of the books focus on biographies and photographs of deceased individuals, predominantly males. The content mainly encompasses Thai music knowledge, Thai music, standard music notation for traditional Thai music, and cultural performances. The volumes are primarily in printed format, with some including CD-ROMs as supplementary materials. The content is aligned with the teaching curriculum, indicating a connection between the subjects covered and the deceased individuals. Condolences within the volumes are contributed by relatives, friends, and disciples. The range of publication years for the cremation volumes on music spans from 1963 to 2022, encompassing a variety of historical and contemporary materials.
