บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาวาทกรรมการอ่านในสังคมไทย ด้วยการใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาและหลักการวิเคราะห์วาทกรรม ตามแนวคิดของฟูโกต์ (Foucault) และเก็บข้อมูลในรูปแบบของตัวบท (text) จากเอกสารที่ได้คัดเลือกจำนวน  80 รายการ ทั้งที่เป็นสิ่งพิมพ์และอินเทอร์เน็ต ผลการวิจัยพบว่ามีวาทกรรมที่ครอบงำในสังคมไทย คือคนไทยอ่านหนังสือน้อย ไม่รักการอ่าน ด้วยวลีที่หลากหลาย และวลีที่รับรู้กันทั่วไปคือ “คนไทยอ่านหนังสือปีละ 8 บรรทัด” จึงส่งผลให้เกิดกระแสการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ที่มีต่อวาทกรรมในลักษณะติดลบ วิตกกังวล โดยใช้คำพูดแบบเสียดสีเยาะเย้ย แดกดัน และมองว่าเป็นวิกฤตของประเทศที่จะต้องรีบแก้ไข และหาแนวทางสนับสนุนให้คนไทยรักการอ่าน
